The new VideoRay Pro 5 arrived in the Netherlands

This week two VideoRay Pro 5 ROV’s arrived at our office and are for our customer RPS in the Netherlands.

Mission Specialist Pro 5

The VideoRay Mission Specialist Series (MSS) Pro 5 configuration is designed for speed and efficiency, weighing in at 10kg (22lb). The three-thruster system has forward speed of over 4.4 knots, and utilizes a system of interchangeable, modular components residing on a single, intelligent network. The Pro 5 is designed to handle missions with size, space, weight, and deployment speed constraints, such as infrastructure inspections beyond the reach of divers, search & recovery, exploring the ocean floor up to 305m, and various others. The Pro 5 builds on the strengths of the Pro 4, with more thrust, longer tether lengths, higher resolution video, and the advantages of the MSS modular systems.

Pipeline inspections

One of Deep Ocean Engineering ‘s Phantom® T4-H ROVs has successfully completed a series of pipeline inspections that Underwater Resources, Inc. performed for their client, EBMUD. The T4-H ROV inspected sections of the Mokelumne Aqueduct Raw Water Pipeline. The system was outfitted with a pipe profiling sonar and three video cameras. The ROV traversed three, nearly thousand foot long, eight foot diameter, inverted siphon pipelines running under the San Joaquin river. These pipelines provide EBMUD with 90% of their water supply.

The standard Phantom® T5 includes high-performance magnetically-coupled brushless thrusters, a HD camera, 15,000 lumens of LED lighting, a control power console and a 300m copper umbilical. Options available include upgraded fiber-optic umbilicals, cameras, lights, sonars, manipulators, GPS, INS, DVL acoustic tracking and navigational software. Additional cameras and application specific tools and skids, such as our Disrupter, can be accommodated.

It may be small, but that does not mean the RT1003 lacks in ability. In fact the RT1003 has been designed to meet the needs of ADAS engineers who want the reliability and functionality of our top-end products, but need to use the product in space constrained applications like VRU testing and low-profile robotic vehicles. Keeping in mind the current NCAP, NHTSA and IIHS roadmaps, the RT1003 can deliver real‑time 2 cm RTK integer accuracy via a base station or NTRIP server.
Compatible with RT-Range
As well a sharing the same connector as our RT3000 and RT4000 products, the RT1003 is also fully compatible with our RT-Range system and can be connected and configured in minutes. This allows engineers to accurately generate singlepoint measurements between static and mobile targets in real-time.
Work quickly
The software supplied free of charge with the RT1003 has been designed to allow engineers to work as quickly and efficiently as possible. While it has the power to allow detailed analysis of the measurements both internally and via its export options, the software also allows real-time tests to be defined that can provide instant pass/fail feedback to drivers.
Small and lightweight
The small size and low weight of the RT1003 make it ideal for pedestrian and VRU testing where space restrictions are important considerations. With a mass of just 0.435 kg, this is our lightest automotive system and can easily be carried for extended periods. Measuring just 142 × 77 × 41 mm, it is also our smallest too.

The Vector VR500 is the first rugged all in one multifrequency, multi-GNSS smart antenna which provides RTK level position and precise heading. This rugged design is compliant to IP69, MIL-STD810G, MIL-STD-202F, and IEC 60068-2 standards for water ingress, shock, and vibration for the harshest environments. The VR500 is a great solution for machine control and other challenging applications. The all in one VR500 with set antenna separation provides consistent and reliable position and heading accuracy.
The Vector VR1000 is Hemisphere GNSS’ premiere multi-GNSS, multi-frequency receiver designed specifically for the machine control market. Providing precise heading, Athena RTK positioning, and full Atlas capability, its rugged design is compliant to IP69K, MILSTD810G, MIL-STD-202F, and IEC 60068-2 standards. The VR1000 supports antenna separations up to 10 meters, offering heading accuracy to 0.01 degrees  RMS in addition to RTK position accuracy and full support for Hemisphere GNSS’ Atlas worldwide L-band
Designed for ease-of-installation, the all-in-one unit connects with just one cable supporting unprecedented integration of CANbus and UHF RTK radio with position and heading messages. The powerful and easy-to-use webUI allows the user to control, manage, and upgrade firmware and activations using Wi-Fi.  VR500 and VR1000 offer a robust set of connectivity options allowing corrections to be received via radio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Serial.
Both powered by Athena GNSS engine the give the best-in-class, centimeter-level RTK. Athena excels in virtually every environment where high-accuracy GNSS receivers can be used. Tested and proven, Athena’s performance with long baselines, in open-sky environments, under heavy canopy, and in geographic locations experiencing significant scintillation is nothing short of cutting edge.
Integrated L-band adds support for Atlas GNSS global corrections for meter to sub-decimeter level accuracy while new Tracer™ technology helps maintain position during correction signal outages. VR500 also uses Hemisphere’s aRTK™ technology, powered by Atlas. This feature allows the receiver to operate with RTK accuracies when RTK corrections fail. If the VR500 is Atlas-subscribed, it will continue to operate at the subscribed service level until RTK is restored.
